Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander is the recipient of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of IEM Beijing by HLTV.org and betway.
Despite his individually impressive 2018, a year he finished as the eighth best player in the world, gla1ve did not have a single MVP award to his name, as the individual accolades from Astralis' tournament wins ended up in the hands of his teammates, or in some cases, opponents.
That has now changed, as gla1ve snatched the MVP award at IEM Beijing, a tournament where the Danish in-game leader looked dominant from start to finish, averaging a 1.48 rating.
Astralis played nine maps and won all of them at IEM Beijing, with gla1ve only having one slightly below-average game throughout their campaign, a 0.98-rated Nuke against 100 Thieves in the group stage. While displaying a high consistency, he also had admirable peaks, finishing six maps with a 1.50+ rating.
Aside from being the highest-rated player at the event, the 24-year-old in-game leader topped the boards in categories such as ADR (95.2), opening kills per round (0.18), and multikill rounds (56.6%).
Following closely in the MVP race was Nicolai "device" Reedtz, but as gla1ve had no slipups throughout the event, the team's AWPer was unable to catch up and claim what would be his fifteenth MVP award.
